Jamie Jones grew up on a farm near Blue Earth, Minnesota, and always found the crop production process interesting. She went to South Dakota State University as a psychology major but soon realized she was pursuing the wrong career. She switched to agronomy and loved it ever since.
As Sales and Marketing Manager at Main Fertilizer and now Farmers Coop Association, Jamie finds great satisfaction in helping growers and fellow sales staff. “We all have the same goal which is maximizing yield,” she remarked. The challenges of agronomy make the process interesting and rewarding.
As the new agronomy department at Farmers Coop Association comes together, Jamie sees advantages in having more team members, joint effort, and a stronger organization. “Bigger in this case is better. We can fine tune technology and from it collect all kinds of information, right down to how many kernels of corn per acre, varying soil types, and more.”
When she’s not working, Jamie enjoys being outdoors with her family including her husband, Clint, and their three sons – Wyatt, Will, and Preston. The Jones family lives on a farm near Winnebago, Minnesota.
